FIVB World Grand Prix: US defeats Italy

Italy change their lineup so the United States have to adjust and reinstate Jordan Larson-Burbach in the starting lineup that helped the US to beat Italy in four sets.

In the first two sets the US won 25-17, 25-14. Italy used their best shot-blocker to slow the US in the third set which they won 25-15. Team USA made several adjustments and pulled away to win the fourth set 25-15 and the game in front of 6,500 fans at CenturyLink Center Omaha.

Russia which the US will face Friday night also stayed undefeated with a 25-19, 28-26, 25-19 sweep of Brazil. China won it's first against Japan 25-20, 25-19, 25-12 victory Thursday.

The four-week tournament purse is $2.98 million.
