St. Petersburg, Florida - Raquel Ferreira a native of Brazil who now lives in St. Petersburg and a St. Pete volleyball star is happy with the opportunity of playing pro beach volleyball in her hometown. She's looking forward to the tournament and competing right in her own backyard at Spa Beach.
Ferreira has her own beach volleyball academy in St. Petersburg. "It's going to be an amazing tournament; I'm so, so excited," she said.
The tournament will open on May 30 Friday up to June 1 Sunday. Competing in the even are volleyball stars like three-time Olympic gold medalist Kerri Walsh Jennings and 2008 Olympic gold medalist Phil Dalhausser.
