Sunday was a historic day for the U.S. women's indoor volleyball team, they won the FIVB World Championship gold-medal in Milan, Italy, defeating China 3-1 for their first world title.
Kimberly Hill was dominant for the United States, she scored 20 points, captain Christa Dietzen chipped in 15 points to lead the US for the victory 27-25, 25-20, 16-25, 26-24 at the Mediolanum Forum.
The U.S. women volleyball tea had never won the world championships, World Cup or Olympics.
Brazil beat Italy 25-15, 25-13, 22-25, 22-25, 15-7 in the bronze-medal match.
