Russia, Italy, Turkey and Dominican Republic Advances to Semifinals at FIVB Girls Under 18 World Championship

Rosario and Santa Fe, Argentina, August 25, 2017 - The ongoing FIVB Volleyball Girls’ U18 World Championship Argentina 2017 is getting more exciting as the teams is down to just four on Friday. Defending champions Italy, Turkey, Russia and the Dominican Republic emerged victorious from the quarterfinals matches and will collide in the semifinals on Saturday.

Italy handily won against USA 3-0 (25-7, 25-16, 25-15) the defending champions displayed why they are the top team to beat, they won their sixth match in a row. Turkey also improved their winning streak to half a dozen after a 3-0 (25-20, 25-8, 30-28) over Germany and followed the Italian trail.



Later on, Russia powered through the spirit of Japan and won 3-0 (25-22, 25-17, 32-30) in a riveting contest even though it was over in three set. The hall in Rosario was already full at the end of that game and it exploded when Argentina entered the court, but Dominican Republic ruined the party as they prevailed 3-0 (25-21, 25-17, 25-18) to complete the elite quartet.
