The sophomore twins Nicole McNamara and Megan McNamara was 4-0 in the Battle at the Beach last week which includes two wins over No. 5 Long Beach State and No. 8 Arizona. Sophomore twins Megan McNamara and Nicole McNamara won in three sets 21-17, 23-25, 15-11 in court one in the dual vs. #5 Long Beach State last Sunday as the Bruins claimed the close victory, 3-2, keeping UCLA's winning streak alive.
The No. 3 Bruins (25-2) defeated No. 8 Arizona (13-8) and No. 5 Long Beach State (21-5) Sunday after a pair of victories over Washington and Concordia on Saturday. UCLA finished match play Sunday with a commanding 4-1 victory over Arizona. Freshmen Chanti Holroyd and Savvy Simo lost a three-set match 18-21, 21-19, 16-14 in court five to keep the Bruins from sweeping the Wildcats.
The twins were named Pac-12 beach volleyball pair of the week it is the second time this season the twins have been voted Pac-12 Pair of the Week.
