Nebraska Huskers volleyball team defeated Kansas Jayhawks to advance to Saturday’s NCAA Volleyball Tournament Championship which will they play Texas.
Nebraska (4th seed) were able to sustain Jayhawks attacks and put up a strong finish to cotain the Jayhawks 25-20, 25-21, 20-25, 25-16 . The Huskers put up the final seven rallies of the match to win against the Jayhawks in front of 17,551 fans at the CenturyLink Center, the largest volleyball crowd in NCAA history.
KU, as the No. 9 national seed, joined No. 2 Minnesota, No. 3 Texas and No. 4 Nebraska in the Final Four. In an earlier match Texas defeated Minnesota 24-26, 25-27, 25-23, 21-25. Minnesota's loss ends a six game winning streak with the Gophers ending the season at 30-5. This was Minnesota’s 20th NCAA Tournament appearance, and its fourth Final Four.
Kadie Rolfzen led the Huskers with 14 kills, 5 digs and 4 blocks.
