Kansas University Volleyball Team beat Denver to win Crown

Denver — Kansas University’s women’s volleyball team won against Denver, 25-15, 26-24, 24-26, 25-22, last Saturday evening September 6, 2014 in the championship match of the Pioneer Classic at Hamilton Gymnasium. With the win, the Kansas Jayhawks improved their record to 5-1.

Earlier Saturday, the Kansas Jayhawks swept Sam Houston State, 25-15, 25-17, 25-16.

The Jayhawks had a .356 attack efficiency and held Sam Houston to a .032 hitting percentage. Freshman Havili led Jayhawks with 37 assists, sophomore Cassie Wait had 13 digs, and freshman Tori Miller added 6 digs.

Kansas will now head home to take on UMKC at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Horejsi Family Athletics Center.
