U.S. Girls Youth National Volleyball Team Finished Second



The U.S. Girls Youth National Volleyball Team made history in Nakhon Ratchasima,Thailand Sunday by finishing with a silver medal. They lose to China 25-16, 25-21, 25-23 in the finals of the FIVB World Championships. Both teams finished with 5-2 records.

The silver medal is the first world championship volleyball medal won by U.S. girls or boys team at junior level. The girls team in 2003 and 2005 finished fourth.

Mikaela Foecke of West Point, Iowa and Molly Haggerty of Glen Ellyn, Ill., led the U.S. team with nine points each.
